Some things off Thoof

While looking at Thoof, one of the most recent social networking sites, I came across a couple of other interesting things, the sorts of things that you need to make a note of before you lose track of them.
One of them is a slightly older piece that first appeared in the Washington Post, and is still available on their site. It’s by Gene Weingarten, and is in response to someone in their twenties who (perhaps unwisely) asked Weingarten Can you think of anything you know now in your fifties that you wish you'd known in your twenties?
Weingarten’s initial response should have been Can I think of Anything? You’ve got to be kidding. Where do I start?
But he was more restrained than that, and he offers some nine points in response. Some of them are more than a little facetious; some might be better appreciated by a man in his fifties than a youth in his twenties, but all in all Weingarten tells it like it is. Pretty much.
The second item comes from a site called Oddee, a blog on the oddities of our world. It excels in lists: The ten most bizarre people on earth; 11 curiously ironic pictures; 10 unfortunate business names and so on. The one that caught my attention was 15 Unfortunately Placed Ads. That is, 15 ads that stand in stark contrast to their surroundings. Check them out. (Warning: unfortunately the owner of this site is advertising some adult material down the left side of the page.)
